ColourPop Liquid Lipsticks
It's no secret that liquid lipsticks are popular right now, and with today being World Smile Day we decided it's a perfect day to post some swatches and reviews from our favorite liquid lipstick brand, ColourPop!We have tried numerous brands of liquid lipsticks including Tarte, Too Faced, Kat Von D and Bare Minerals. However, nothing compares to the ColourPop brand. Not only are they the best quality and last the longest, they are the most inexpensive at around $6 each. They are very true to color for what you see in the tube and wether you buy matte, satin, or gloss, they go on super-smooth and feel great on your lips. Needless to say, we love them.
We currently have a collection of 10 different ColourPop lipsticks. Since each of us have a very different skin tone, we have swatched each color on both of our lips so you can see how they look on different skin tones.

We both are in agreement that our very favorite color on both of us is Midi. It is the most perfect pink nude color and looks good on any skin tone. It looks amazing paired with a smoky eye as well. We had a hard time with the color Donut because it doesn't go on quite as smoothly as the others and we found we had to layer it up quite a bit. We didn't feel like it looked good in person, but seeing it in pictures, we really like it.
Our two least favorite colors were Trap and Botanical (Botanical no longer available). They really didn't work for either of our skin tones. Trap has a purplish-grey tone that just doesn't compliment our skin tone or eye color at all. Botanical is just a tough color all around. It is almost a neon orange when you see it on the brush and it most definitely does not work if you have a cooler skin tone. If you had a very yellow skin tone and a little bit darker skin, it may compliment and work for you a little better. If an bright coral, more on the orange side, is what you're looking for, then Botanical would be a good choice. For us, not so much.
Hutch we liked, but really dark lip colors are hard to work with. It's really difficult to get the color to look even across your lips, especially in the corners of your mouth and it's not very forgiving as far as getting the perfect line for the outline of your lips. With that being said, that's the case with any dark color in any brand that we've tried and this ColourPop brand was a lot easier to work with than other brands that we've tried.
ColourPop as a brand is amazing. While we haven't tried any of their other products aside from their lipsticks, they have great customer service. Also, if you've never shopped with them, when you first go to their website, they give you the option to subscribe to their emails and if you do that, you get $5 off your first purchase which is basically a FREE lipstick from them! They also have free shipping on orders of $30 or more within the US. They ship quickly and even give out free mini samples of their products sometimes.
So, in conclusion, we highly recommend ColourPop Liquid Lipsticks. True to color, smooth and long lasting, they are well worth the $6 you pay and other more expensive brands just don't compete. You can get 3-4 of these lipsticks for the price of one from another brand. We definitely plan to try more of their products in the future and look forward to reviewing those once we do!
